Synopsis.
The screenplay, Wildflower: Indigenous Spirit, is the story of a young woman named Wayanay (little flower in Chippewa), left to pick up the pieces of a broken life, she embarks on a journey to find her father, weaving in and out of ancient Chippewa stories that had become buried in her memory long ago. When Wayanay ascends into the star world - the spirit world - she must decide if she is willing to leave her beloved father for her life on Earth or stay amongst the stars.
Sophia wrote this play at a time of desperate community loss from the pandemic. American Indians are disproportionately affected by Covid-19. This film reached over 10,000 people.
